Intelligent video surveillance ensures quick reaction
Lenel OnGuard® supplies pictures from video surveillance of the highest quality. With the latest generation of megapixel-cameras, the pictures have such a high resolution that each individual camera can monitor a much larger area than analogue cameras and older digital cameras. The razor-sharp pictures make it much easier to identify people.
The video surveillance in the system is intelligent, so it helps the operator with a quick overview when something happens. If access control, a burglar alarm, or some other security equipment reports an event, the system will immediately register which camera is pointing at the door and supply live pictures to the operator.
In this way, the operator gets an overview of the event in real time with a connection between the alarms and the video pictures. The system automatically makes sure that the functions are coupled together and shown on the operator’s monitor screen. With the surveillance collected in one system, the company can use fewer resources on surveillance.
The system allows for both centralised and decentralised administration, and for surveillance and archiving of video clips.
Intelligent alarm
Lenel OnGuard® also includes an advanced function with “intelligent video”, in which the system can analyse video pictures on the basis of a number of different criteria.
For example, the system can be set up to sound an alarm if there are changes in the picture in the form of predefined objects that are removed or suspicious objects that come into the picture. Intelligent video can be used both live and with recorded video clips.
Although the system is optimised for the best possible video recordings, it also supports other digital video recordings and recordings with analogue cameras. The whole system can be combined in accordance with the customer’s requirements – e.g. to re-use an existing video installation.
The video surveillance also logs all actions, so that it is possible to trace who has made use of surveillance, at what time, and what pictures they have seen.
The system includes tools for fast and easy searches and for improving picture quality. Once pictures with events have been found, they can be quickly and simply stored on a USB-key or burned on to a DVD for use in the police investigation. The system can also send pictures direct to the police when the alarm is pressed.
